Nucleofector™ Technology Amaxa provides the first highly efficient non-viral gene transfer method for unstimulated primary cells and for hard-to-transfect cell lines. The Nucleofector™ Technology guarantees unprecedented gene transfer efficiencies for a non-viral method. The technology is based on the long-known method of electroporation, which has now been improved drastically. What makes the Nucleofector™ technology unique is its ability to directly transfer the DNA into the cell's nucleus, i.e. nucelofect the cells, independently of cell division. This results in exceptionally high gene transfer efficiencies even in non-dividing primary cells and hard-to-transfect cell lines. It is the combination of specific electrical parameters, delivered by the Nucleofector™ device, and the cell-type specific Nucleofector™ Solutions which allows nuclear gene transfer. Optimized protocols for a multitude or primary cells and cell lines make it an easy-to-use tool in every lab.
